How We Verify Stall Changes
Stall status can be difficult to determine from a single visit. We therefore distinguish temporary absence from a documented permanent change.
Government records, stall notices, operator announcements and information provided by relevant stallholders.
Recent Singapore media and established food publications may be used to document closures, retirements and other changes.
Current unit signage, occupancy and direct observations may be used where available.
Hawker stalls may take extended breaks, change rest days, close temporarily during renovation periods or operate irregularly.
We only classify a stall as permanently closed when available information reasonably supports that conclusion.
